Unless and until we’ve figured out a way to create totally artificial ones to create the super-brain babies capable of telekinesis that we all hope to have, it’s still the case that women are going to need to become pregnant. And because they’ve agreed to propagate the species, they’ve also agreed to allow their formally-svelte bodies to turn into something else. Fortunately, they all know the secret; during pregnancy, use fashion to avoid being frumpy.

Guys should think for a few minutes, if they can rip themselves away from the latest mixed martial arts cage match on the boob tube, on how something as simple as maternity wear can affect a woman’s self-image. Just a week ago, she was running around in a super-skinny pair of jeans and now she’s having trouble fitting into a canvas sack. It’s a fact of human biology that pregnancy and women are literally joined at the hip, and that’s a good thing because if it were up to men to become pregnant our species would’ve died out long ago. It can be a quick way out of the doghouse that she built because of the fact that her pregnancy doomed her to ugly pregnancy clothing on some occasions, right?

It really isn’t (or least, shouldn’t) be a chore on the part of a guy when his lady has become pregnant and is asking for a little help to avoid becoming frumpy. Admit to her that she is the smartest person in the universe and a practical goddess (though why she’s with the guy she is might be a mystery), and all should probably go well.
